Benchtop replacement is often the second biggest visual change after doors. It can be carried out as part of a complete facelift or as a standalone upgrade where the cabinets and doors are staying.

We assess the existing tops, cabinet levels, wall conditions, appliance clearances, sink and cooktop cut-outs, joins and overhangs before finalising scope.

ImportantA benchtop is not just a rectangle. Site conditions, walls that are out of square, joins, appliance cut-outs and splashback interfaces all affect how the replacement should be measured and installed.

Can a new benchtop go over the old one?

Sometimes overlay systems are available, but we do not assume that is automatically the best approach. Existing height, edges, appliances, sink mounting and the condition of the current top all matter. In many facelift projects, removing the existing benchtop gives a cleaner and more predictable result.

What happens to the sink and cooktop?

The replacement scope needs to account for removal, cut-outs and reconnection requirements. Licensed trades may be required for plumbing, gas or electrical work depending on what is being disconnected or altered.

Older walls, out-of-square corners, tiled splashbacks, under-mount sinks, integrated appliances and apartment access can all change the measure and installation plan. We confirm those conditions before the surface is ordered.
